Cleaving is the art of splitting a length of wood along the grain, resulting in exceptionally strong timber full of character and form inherited from the living tree. I can create bespoke gates, fencing and garden structures and provide an installation service in Cumbria and the Lake District or deliver nationwide.

Tables, stools, benches and other small items of furniture, made by hand using traditional tools and techniques. I’m available for bespoke commissions and occasionally have items for purchase.

Hand carved cups, bowls, shrink pots and spoons crafted from wood salvaged from woodland management and conservation projects. New items are added seasonally throughout the year depending on availability of material.
